Alphatech engineers qualified
Question:
Is the service engineer working on your environmental test chamber properly certified?
Answer:
YES… If you use Alphatech ….but if you use others beware.
The Alphatech service team are fully certified to category 1 (the most stringent) of the “F” Gas regulations.
Legal obligations
It is obligatory (legal requirement) to be “F” gas certified when working on all systems using refrigeration plant by July 2011.
The EU regulation No 842/2006 imposes obligations on operators to leak check systems at regular intervals depending on refrigerant volume. Part of this legal obligation is to ensure that “competent” persons carry out the checks.
This scope includes the majority of environmental test chambers with mechanical refrigeration plant. Using service engineers who are not certified will contravene the environmental legislation and may also expose your company to possible health and safety and “failure to comply” legal issues.
The Alphatech service team were recently fully certified to category 1 standards (the highest level) well in advance of the industry deadline of July 2011, when all engineers and employers must be certified and registered to these standards.
Certification
Certification by an independent authorised body includes extensive written examinations and practical skills assessments covering comprehensive aspects of refrigeration plant design, operation, maintenance, repair, and decommission.
Alphatech service team work on systems from many manufacturers, some of our clients have older units that when maintained correctly serve them well, and other clients operate newer machines in very hi tech R&D or production environments where maximum “uptime” is vital.
KEEP AHEAD of the challenge…
There are approximately 50,000 “so called” service engineers working on refrigeration plant in the UK, to date ONLY a small fraction (hundreds) are properly certified. Sadly you may not realise this until you are either audited or there is a problem.
At the moment uncertified F gas refrigeration plant engineers can still operate under a time limited concession. However the independent certifying organisations will not have the throughput capacity to certify all these engineers before the July 2011 deadline after which uncertified engineers will be operating illegally.
